I have a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, with a concentration in Piano Performance, and a Master’s degree in the Art of Teaching.
I have served as a community college adjunct professor for courses in music appreciation (both classical and jazz/pop) as well as director of the college choir director and instructor for group piano. I have also worked as a band director for 5th grade – high school students, an elementary/middle school general music teacher, a preschool music teacher (“Mrs. Music”), and a church choir director for a wide range of singers and handbell ringers. I have taught piano since 1985 in my home studio, ages preschool through senior citizen.
I have lived in St. Joe since 2010. St. Joe is also husband Rick’s hometown, so he returned to his roots. My oldest son, Andy, graduated from the University of Michigan and now lives and works in Boston. Youngest son, Tim, graduated from Hope College and also lives in St Joe. Both are happily married. Another member of the household is Wrigley, our black lab. We enjoy working on updating the inside and outside of our home, yard work, camping, U of M football and just being outdoors. Additionally, I like reading, baking, and walking Wrigley.
